Our Reach

Our History
From a single family dream to a globally recognized confectionery group, our journey has been fueled by a passion for excellence and a commitment to making high-quality treats accessible to all. What began as an export mission has transformed into a story of local manufacturing, brand innovation, and deep-rooted connections with consumers across the African continent.
The Foundation of a Dream
The beginning of a great dream: Comestibles Aldor was founded in Cali, Colombia by the Aljure-Dorronsoro family (hence the name Aldor) with the philosophy of creating an export-oriented company that would produce candies within everyone's reach. With a lot of effort and tenacity, they started with a production capacity of 5 tons per day of lollipops and hard candies, exporting to countries such as Panama, Ecuador and Haiti.
Later on, they managed to enter new markets such as the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica and the United States. In order to get closer and closer to the vision of its founders, the company starts participating in international fairs.
In the mid 90’s the company made important investments in technology, acquiring modern equipment.
Strategic Evolution and Brand Power
At the end of the 90’s, Aldor takes a great leap, gaining participation in Colombia and reaching other international markets.
Conquering 40 countries in places such as: Central America, South America and the United States.
“We learned that if we wanted to survive we could not do it through generic candies, but through the creation of powerful concepts and brands”, Leonardo Aljure, Aldor’s General Manager.
For this reason, Aldor acquired new production lines, increasing its capacity to 50 tons per day, and this is how Yogueta was born, the first powerful brand of this company, with a novel concept of yogurt flavor and soft filling.
Global Infrastructure and African Recognition
The success of Yogueta significantly marked the company, which prompted the construction of a new production plant in Yumbo, Colombia with an area of 28,000 mt2, increasing by 50% the response capacity and reaching a production of 160 tons per day.
This initiative was joined by the re-launch of PIN POP, making a strong entry into the chewing gum-filled lollipop segment.
The Coolest Brand
Continuing with the rise, Aldor is recognized with the Export Merit Award in Colombia and “The Coolest Brand” in South Africa.
Product lines in Johannesburg
As a result of hard work, Aldor gains traction in the lollipop market in South Africa and decides to open a production facility in Johannesburg with two lollipop lines.
Aldor consolidates its number one position with the Yogueta and PIN POP brands thanks to its YOGUETA GRANADILLA and PIN POP SODAS launches, which leverage the company’s exponential growth.
Pin Pop Mouth Painter Launch
Aldor gained market share through continued innovation in its confectionery portfolio with launches such as PINPOP BLUE MOUTH PAINTER (the most successful lollipop in ALDOR’s history) and the XPLOSION range of YOGUETA that revitalized the brand in South Africa.
We explored new categories such as energy drinks, soft drinks, vitamin supplements and juice powders. Thanks to continued growth, ALDOR Africa began to expand with the opening of new offices and expansion of the AMALGAM warehouse (15,000 m2).
Growing our brand portfolio
Aldor is accelerating its innovation agenda with the recent launch and rapid expansion of Xhale - a bold new brand that signals the direction of our growth.
Alongside this, our flagship brands Pin Pop and Yogueta are actively moving into adjacent confectionery segments, extending well beyond traditional lollipops and candies.
The momentum is resonating. In 2025, Pin Pop was voted South Africa’s coolest sweets brand at the Sunday Times Next Gen Awards - a return to the top after a notable absence, and a strong signal that the brand’s renewed energy is connecting with the next generation of consumers.
